New Taxes
« on: July 12, 2017, 11:08:54 AM »
In an attempt to get a conversation going.......how about the commissioners who want to raise sales taxes in Knox County.......yet they spend....spend.....spend.....i.e.....the new 9-1-1 center in the corporate center....costs well over $1,000,000 (million) and yet they have yet to tell the public this.....said that the move would cost around $450,000.....

Food for thought!

Good info fredlake.I wonder how much the drug epidemic is costing us,Mt Vernon and Knox Co. The "health"services here seem to be exploding, much because of the drug mess. The govt health providers  talk about building addicts "self image",i.e., govt supplying the parenting these people never got. Is that expensive psychobable or a real solution? How about making Knox Co VERY inhospitable to drugs & their users & sellers?Cost savings would be what? Police costs might rise but we might be a more decent community.

A million for sure? That's awful. The Opioid Epidemic‎ in Knox County is horrific,  not only  in our county but in Ohio as well. At the same time I believe Knox county's epidemic is one of the worst counties, though I don't  have facts to prove it. But it is really really bad.  I do agree with mz gullagg, way to much psychobabble.

Exactly!
He who is void of virtuous attachments in private life is, or very soon will be, void of all regard for his country. There is seldom an instance of a man guilty of betraying his country, who had not before lost the feeling of moral obligations in his private connections.
Samuel Adams
