Mount Vernon Police Department Reports from 4/1 - 4/4

An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Vine St. on a report of a needle found by bushes. The officer placed the needle in a sharps container.
A man reported a burglary at an apartment on Follin Ave. A PlayStation Slim and a 21" black Insignia TV with remote were reported stolen from an upstairs bedroom. No signs of forced entry were observed.
While checking the 500 block of E. Burgess St for a suspicious male, officers noticed the front door of a home in the 400 block of E. Burgess St. was unsecured. Officers checked the interior of the residence, but were unable to make contact with the homeowner. They left a business card on the kitchen counter before securing the door.
An alarm company reported an alarm in the 1600 block of Coshocton Ave. When officers arrived at the business, they found the door to be slightly ajar. They checked the inside and found it to be ok. The door was secured. Officers left a voice message with a key holder.
Holly Johnson, 27, of Mount Vernon was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Robert Bonifat, 59, of Mount Vernon, was cited for running a red light.
Jeremy Blankenship, 32, of Mount Vernon, was charged with theft.
Shasta Jones, 44, of Mount Vernon was cited for running a stop sign.
Monica Trask, 27, of Mount Vernon, was arrested and was charged with obstructing official business.
Kourtney Bemiller, 24, of Johnstown, was arrested and was cited for with driving under the influence, driving under the influence (.17 of 1 gram or more per 210L of breath), and driving or parking on the Sidewalk/Curb/Lawn
Jeremy Deem, 39, of Mount Vernon was arrested and is charged with persistent disorderly conduct.
