Mount Vernon Police Department Reports from 3/30

Scott Schaade, 20, of Mount Vernon, was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

John Peddicored, 82, of Coshocton, was cited for failure to yield.


At approximately 10:10 AM, an officer responded to the 400 block of E. Pleasant St on a report of a disturbance. Scott Schaade was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A man dropped off at the police department two syringes and a spoon which he found in the 0-100 block of E. Chestnut St. He advised the items were located in an apartment he was cleaning out. The items were disposed of.

At approximately 7:00 PM, an officer responded to a home on Taylor Rd on a report of a structure fire. The tenants of the home advised they were home when the fire started on the north side in the exterior area. The fire was extinguished with an outside water hose. The fire department was notified.

Upon examination, the siding in area where the fire originated appeared slightly burned, but was contained to the area. Teh officer did not locate any cigarette butts or accellerants in the area. Photographs were obtained at the scene and the investigation was forwarded to the investigator at the Mount Vernon Fire Department.
