Mount Vernon Police Department Reports from 3/24

Steven Stover, 58, of Mount Vernon, was ited for driving or having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance.

Bruce Morrison, 35, of Mount Vernon was arrested and charged with domestic violence and menacing.

Shikita Reed, 30, of Mount Vernon, was cited for expired or unlawful license plates.


An employee of Schwebel's Baking Company a theft of a 7' tall bread card with 12racks for storing bread in the 500 block of S. Main St. 

An officer responded to the corner of E. Cine and S. Main St. in reference to a found syringe. the officer located the syringe and placed it in a sharps container for disposal.

Officers were dispatched to the 11700 clock of Upper Gilchrist Rd. in reference to a theft. The items were returned and no charges were filed.

A wallet was turned into the police by Super 8 Motel. Its owner picked it up later that day.

A theft from vehicle complaint was reported. Five books of checks were reported form a vehicle in the 100 block of Quarry St.

An altercation was reported between a male and a female near the intersection of Kenyon St. and Miami St. The male was identified as Bruce Morrison. He admitted that he became physical with his wife during the altercation and was arrested.


A 2001 GMC Yukon, operated by Emily M. Glosser, of Mount Vernon  and a 2012 Ford Fusion, operated by Denise J. Loper, of Gambier, were southbound on Martinsburg Rd. Glosser's vehicle did not slow down for traffic ahead, striking Loper's vehicle. Glosser left the scene prior to police arrival. No injuries were reported.
