Sheriff Releases Statement Regarding Yesterday's Police Chase

MOUNT VERNON- Knox County Sheriff David Shaffer released the following statement today in regards to yesterday's police chase which ended in Wayne County near Wooster:

When a Knox County Deputy observed 25 year old Steven Tomlin of Mount Vernon in the Hardeeā€™s Restaurant parking lot, Tomlin fled the area driving a Uhaul van. Officers were looking for Tomlin due to an active warrant for assault. Tomlin continue to flee officers driving through portions of four counties before his tires were spiked multiple times. Tomlin was eventually arrested on Rathburn Rd. in Wayne County. During the arrest he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia that included syringes. Multiple additional charges are expected.
