MOUNT VERNON - At approximately 10 AM this morning, officers from the Knox
County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Mount Vernon Police
Department arrested Paul J. Darling, age 46 of Rives Junction, Michigan on importuning charges.
Darling had been communicating online and via text messaging
with a person whom he thought was an underage female. He allegedly asked the underage girl
to engage in sexual activity with him. The female was actually a Knox County
Sheriff’s Office Deputy. Darling was arrested when he arrived for the
has most recently been staying the Gahanna area. A judge set Darling's bong at $5,000 today with no ten percent option. A preliminary hearing is set for January 25. According to Knox County Sheriff David Shaffer, the case remains under investigation.
