Mount Vernon Police Department Reports and Incidents 12/4-12/6

On December 4, officers were dispatched to the 0-100 block of E. Chestnut St. on a disturbance.
On December 4, a Rent-to-Own employee reported the theft of a Playstation 3.
On December 4, officers responded to the 400 block of N. Sandusky St. on a report of a break-in. A white Kenmore window conditioner, hand tools, various metals, vehicle maintenance items and household items were reported missing.
On December 4, officers responded to the 500 block of N. Sandusky St. on a report of a break-in. When officers arrived, they made contact with a suspect, Steven Cole. Officers placed him under arrest and transported him to the Knox County Jail. Officers also recovered stolen property from another address on Sandusky St.
On December 5, officers responded to a disturbance in the 600 block of N. Sandusky St. A hypodermic needle was recovered.
On December 5, officers responded to the Dollar General Store on Coshocton Ave on a shoplifting complaint.
William Strouse, 46, of Mount Vernon was arrested on a charge of having weapons under disability.
John Russell, 45, of Mount Vernon was cited for failure to control/weaving course.
Steven Cole, 36, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on charges of criminal trespass, falsification, theft, and a probation violation.
Austin Smith, 22, of Mount Vernon was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Tyler Ward, 22, of Mount Vernon was cited for possessing drug abuse instruments.
Kayler Davis, 20, of Howard was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
Brian Belair, 50, of Mount Vernon was cited for improper turning at intersections.
Andrew Ward, 36, of Mount Vernon was cited for driving under the influence, improper exhaust system, and driving under the influence within 20 years of a prior offense.
Curtis Ward, 28, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on a probation violation.
A 2013 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Stacia J. Longfellow, of Howard and a 2016 Ford Explorer, driven by Jennifer Snow of Danville, were traveing eastbound in the Knox Community Hospital employee parkign lot. Longfellow stopped in the travel lane and proceeded to travel back westbound, failing to see Snow behind her. Longfellow's vehicle backed into Snow's vehicle.
A 2004 Mercury Monterey, driven by Brian Belair, of Blacklick was traveling southbound on S. Mulberry St in the right lane. A 2003 Ford Explorer, driven by Melissa Elliott, of Utica was also traveling southbound on S. Mulberry St in the left lane. Belair attempted to turn left from the right lane into a parking lot and struck Elliott's vehicle.
