Knox County Grand Jury Indictments

MOUNT VERNON – Knox County Prosecuting Attorney Chip McConville reported that the Knox County Grand Jury handed down twenty indictments for felony crimes on Monday, most notably a 17 count indictment against Pedro Montalvo Jr, 43, of Mount Vernon for Pandering sexually oriented material/Minor.  The indictment alleges that Montalvo downloaded images and videos that depicted children from preteen ages down to infants on seventeen different occasions. 

John G. Snyder, 50, of Danville, was indicted for Rape, a first-degree felony, and Sexual Battery, a third-degree felony. The indictment alleges that Snyder engaged in sexual conduct with his daughter beginning before she was 13 years old. This case was investigated by Dep. Dan Bobo of the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

Daren L. Bush, 18, of Glenmont was indicted for Improperly Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs with a firearm specification and a forfeiture specification, a fourth-degree felony, Aggravated Possession of Drugs with a forfeiture specification, a fifth-degree felony, and Having Physical Control of a Vehicle While Under Influence. Bush was located behind the wheel of his car after a suspicious person’s call was made. Bush was found to be in possession of a firearm, marijuana, and methamphetamines after a probable cause search. This case was investigated by Det. Cpl. James DeChant of the Mount Vernon Police Department. 

Zachary J. Elkins, 27, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Receiving Stolen Property, a fifth-degree felony. The indictments allege that Elkins entered a garage on East High Street and stole numerous items. Police later responded to a call of a man throwing beer into the river. The beer matched the description of property stolen from the garage on High Street. This case was investigated by Ptl. Brian Weiser of the Mount Vernon Police Department.

Christopher M. Christine, 20, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Burglary, a third-degree felony, and Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree, and Andrew D. Wilson, 19, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Burglary, a third degree felony and Receiving Stolen Property, a fifth-degree felony. Christine and Wilson are alleged to have stolen a flat screen TV, an X-Box and approximately 20 games from a home on West Curtis Street. This case was investigated by Sgt. Robert Morgan of the Mount Vernon Police Department. 

Justin A. Flack, 22, was indicted for Theft, Theft from an Elderly person, and Forgery, fifth-degree felonies, and Misuse of Credit Cards, a first-degree misdemeanor. The indictment alleges that Flack stole a check and credit card from an elderly victim and used them for charges totaling $806.68. This case was investigated by Ptl. Brian Weiser of the Mount Vernon Police Department. 

Kodey D. Ball, 21, of Howard was indicted for Aggravated Assault, a fourth-degree felony. Ball was at a party when he allegedly hit the victim in the face causing several fractures. This case was investigated by Dep. Scott Baker of the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

Warren P. Hatfield, 19, of Mount Vernon was indicted for nine counts of Trafficking in Marihuana, two of which are fourth-degree felonies and the remaining are fifth-degree felonies, and Illegal Use or Possession of Marihuana Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marihuana, both minor misdemeanors.  Hatfield was a passenger during a traffic stop where marihuana and drug paraphernalia were in open view. After a search of the vehicle Trooper Waters of the Ohio State Highway Patrol discovered a notebook in which Hatfield recorded his sales. 

Kevin R. Fawcett, 39, of Mount Vernon was indicted for two counts of Improper Handling of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Receiving Stolen Property, all fourth-degree felonies. During a traffic stop Fawcett was found to have two loaded handguns in the vehicle, and both guns are believed to be stolen. This case was investigated by Dep. Aaron Phillips of the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

Andrew B. Upton, 20, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for Intimidation, a third-degree felony. Upton is alleged to have used Twitter to make death threats against the victim. This case was investigated by Det. Dave Light of the Knox County Sheriff's Office. 

Shawn T. Price, 30, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Breaking and Entering, a fifth-degree felony, and Theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. The indictment alleges that Price broke into Knox Machine and Tool and stole a cash box with $450.00 inside. This case was investigated by Ptl. Michael Wheeler of the Mount Vernon Police Department.

Aaron C. Hulme, 23, of Reynoldsburg was indicted for Domestic Violence, a third-degree felony. The incident occurred on October 27th on Hamtramck Street between Hulme and his girlfriend. Hulme has two prior domestic violence convictions from 2013 and 2014 in the Franklin County Municipal Court making this offense a felony. This case was investigated by Ptl. Zachary Miller of the Mount Vernon Police Department. 

Michael N. Donnell, Jr., 44, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Domestic Violence, a fourth-degree felony. Donnell had a prior conviction for domestic violence in 2008 from the Mount Vernon Municipal Court. This incident occurred on October 10th at Memorial Park and was investigated by Ptl. Justin Trowbridge of the Mount Vernon Police Department.

Randolph F. McGregor, 32, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Tampering with Evidence, a third-degree felony, Obstructing Official Business and Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments, both second-degree misdemeanors. Officers responded to a disturbance call and allege that McGregor was found with syringes and then tried to dispose of the syringes while being questioned. This case was investigated by Cpl. Rex Young of the Mount Vernon Police Department. 

Brian D. Jose, 33, of Fredericktown was indicted for Breaking and Entering, a fifth-degree felony. The victim alleges that Jose was found in their garage on Mulberry Street in Fredericktown. This case was investigated by Ptl. Rene Joris of the Fredericktown Police Department.

Brian E. Gardner, 43, of Mount Vernon was indicted for two counts of Possession of Heroin and one count of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, all fifth-degree felonies. Gardner was stopped for a traffic violation by Mount Vernon Police Department officers and it is alleged he was found to be in possession heroin and methamphetamine. This case was investigated by Cpl. Rex Young.

Emily A. Bricker, 26, and Anthony R. Serio, 36, both of Mount Vernon were indicted for Attemped Burglary, fourth-degree felonies. Terence L. Ware, 39, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Complicity in the Comission of Attempted Burglary, a fourth degree felony. All three were arrested after officers responded to a call about a burglary in progress in Howard. This case was investigated by Dep. Brandon Minot of the Knox County Sheriff's Office. 

Arraignments for these cases will be held on November 20, 2015 in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas.
