Mount Vernon Police Department Reports and Incidents 10/17-10/25

October 26, 2015 – 4:50 pm

Arrests

On October 22 Daniel Snyder of Bellville was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.

Citations

On October 17 Joshua Lemley of Fredericktown was cited for driving while under the influence and failure to control/weaving course. 

On October 22 Robert Talbot of Mount Vernon was cited for no operator’s license, operation at stop sign and failing to stop after crash on the street.

On October 23 at 1:56 pm an accident occurred in a private driveway on N. Mulberry St.  A car was parked behind another, and when backing up, the first car struck the front-end of the car behind him. Denise Monk of Mt. Gilead was cited in the crash for failure to control/weaving course. Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On October 24 at 7:54 am an accident occurred on Newark Rd. close to Martinsburg Rd.  The first vehicle was travelling southbound on Newark Rd.  A second vehicle was traveling northbound on Newark Rd. The first vehicle failed to yield right of way and so the vehicles crashed. The driver of the first vehicle, who is a minor, was cited in the crash for operation at a yield sign.

On October 25 Connie Applegate-Clark of Mount Vernon was cited for right of way at intersections. 

On October 25 Jason McElroy of Mount Vernon was cited for red lights.

Accidents

On October 23 at 9:26 am an accident occurred in a parking lot on the 1600 block of Coshocton Ave. One car was parked eastbound in the parking lot and a second car was parked westbound.  The first car backed up and rear-ended the second.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On October 23 at 10:01 am an accident occurred in a parking lot on the 900 block of Coshocton Ave. A car was backing out of a parking space southbound into the travel lane.  A second vehicle began backing out northbound failing to see the first car and struck it.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer. 

On October 23 at 2:17 pm an accident occurred on E. Chestnut St. and N. Gay St.  A vehicle was parked on the north side of E. Chestnut when a second unknown vehicle struck it after turning left onto Chestnut from N. Gay St.   The second vehicle left the scene traveling westbound on E. Chestnut. Officer Matthew Haver was the reporting officer.

On October 23 at 9:05 pm an accident occurred in a parking lot on W. High St.  Two cars were parked, one facing westbound and one facing eastbound.  The first car backed up, striking the second’s rear end and then left the scene.  Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.

On October 24 at 1:59 pm an accident occurred in a parking lot on the 800 block of Coshocton Ave.  An unknown vehicle was traveling southbound in the lot.  A second vehicle was parked eastbound.  The first vehicle attempted to pull into an open parking space beside the second and struck the north side of the vehicle.  The first vehicle left the scene without reporting the crash.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

 

Incidents

On October 23 at 10:40 am officers responded to a report of misused credit cards on the 800 block of Coshocton Ave. The complainant reported credit card theft.  Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

On October 23 at 9:53 am officers responded to an event of criminal damaging or endangering on the 100 block of E. Chestnut St. Twelve windows were broken. Officer Matthew Haver was the reporting officer.

On October 23 at 1:15 pm officers responded to criminal mischief on S. Park St. Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

On October 23 at 8:00 pm officers responded to a burglary on the 100 block of Kirk St. Cash was stolen from the complainant’s kitchen table.  Officer Zachary Uhler was the reporting officer.

On October 23 at 8:58 pm officers responded to credit card theft on the                300 block of E. Burgess St.  Officer Zachary Uhler was the reporting officer.

On October 24 at 10:29 am officers responded to a theft on the 1100 block of Coshocton Ave. A wallet containing $300 in cash, credit cards and checks was stolen from a vehicle.  Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

On October 24 at 12:08 pm officers responded to a theft on W. Vine and S Norton Streets. A Marine class battery for a camper was stolen.  Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.

On October 24   at 1:57 pm officers responded to an incident of theft/deception on the 600 block of N. Sandusky St.  A counterfeit $5 bill was reported.  Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.

On October 24 at 7:48 pm officers responded to a found fake ID on the first block of Newark Rd. The complainant reported a person using a fake ID.  Officer Travis Tharp was the reporting officer.

On October 24 at 7:20 pm officers responded to domestic violence on the 800 block of W. Chestnut St.  Officer Zachary Uhler was the reporting officer.

On October 25 at 4:52 am officers responded to an incident of forgery on the first block of N. Sandusky St.  Fake bills were reported. Officer Travis Tharp was the reporting officer.

On October 25 at 10:48 am officers responded to a theft on the 500 block of Williams St. Medication was stolen. Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

On October 25 at 12:19 pm officers responded to theft and criminal damaging on the 800 block of Coshocton Ave. A bag containing a softball uniform was stolen from a vehicle. Officer Travis Tharp was the reporting officer.

On October 25 at 6:56 pm officers responded to a burglary on the first block of Plaza Dr. A compound bow was stolen. Officer Zachary Uhler was the reporting officer.

On October 25 at 7:15 pm officers responded to domestic violence on the 300 block of Columbus Rd. Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.
