July 1, 2015 - 12:00 PM

Celebrate the 4th of July with family and friends at the grand opening of the Ariel-Foundation Park, located on Pittsburgh Avenue, Mount Vernon.

The park boasts of a 250-acre green space and a lot of amenities for the whole family to enjoy, such as walking trails, picnic areas, lakes, woods, bike paths, historic ruins, terrace landscapes, a smokestack, and many more.

Visitors can engage in different activities offered by the park, such as tractor trailer rides, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. There are seven pavilions in the park packed with tables which is open to the public at no cost. Parking is also free of charge.

The park’s grand opening will highlight many of its attractions and will be a great way for everyone to celebrate the 4th of July in a new and enticing environment.

The park opens at 1:00pm-10:30pm and will run family activities from 1pm-5pm. Live music will start playing around 5pm and will continue until closing time. This will feature bands such as the Columbus Brass Band, which is the main highlight of the musical event, the North High Street Stompers, and Swing is the Thing. There will also be an MTVARTS production of Mary Poppins, a laser show synchronized to the music of Columbus Brass Band, and fireworks to end the fabulous night with.

The event is completely free of charge and the first 100 children will receive free kites, Frisbees, and fishing poles. Families may choose to bring their own food for picnics or may choose to purchase food from a variety of food vendors on site.

Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the park’s breathtaking scenery.
