"Whodunit?" Book Discussion to be Held at Public Library

October 15, 2015

MOUNT VERNON - In the spirit of the season, a special “Whodunit?” Adult Book Discussion will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 7:00 p.m., at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry Street.

Discussion leader Mike Vargo, will share his expertise in the mysteries and secrets behind the Dr. Sam Sheppard murder trial. Was the doctor actually guilty of the gruesome murder of his wife as portrayed on hit television serials and movies? Or did the building window washer walk away with actual blood on his hands? Or, was the bloody boot print in the stairway left behind by the mysterious AWOL Air Force officer later convicted as a serial killer?

Participants are welcome to listen to the discussion or read one or all three best-selling books on the case and make up their own mind after reading: “The Wrong Man: The Final Verdict of the Dr. Sam Sheppard Murder Case,” by James Neff, “Tailspin: The Strange Case of Major Call,” by Bernard F. Conners, or “Dr. Sam Sheppard on Trial: Case Closed,” by Jack P. DeSario & William D. Mason.

The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information call the main library at 740-392-BOOK (2665) Ext. 243, visit www.knox.net or email communityrelations@knox.net.
