October 14, 2015 - 8:00 am
The community is invited to attend the Harvest Festival from 9 am to 4 pm this Saturday the 17th.
Admission and parking is free.
In light of the recent Utica Homecoming cancellation, the Harvest Festival will add a parade, car show, and a cake auction to the Festival's events which also include crafts and a bounce house.
Staging for the parade begins at 8 am at Utica High School and the parade kicks off at 9 am. The route for the parade is as follows:
Starting on N. Jefferson, the parade continues northbound to Maple Ave. From Maple Ave. The parade will continue eastbound to Central Ave, then southbound on Central Ave. to Church St, where it makes a right turn and continues to N. Main St. From N. Main St., the parade continues southbound on Main St. through the Business District, and concludes as it makes a left turn onto Mill St.
All parked vehicles will need to be removed from the parade route and Festival site by 5 pm the evening prior or will be subject to citation or being towed. To avoid delays due to the parade being on Main St. (which is RT 13), all tractor trailer, commercial, and over-sized loads are encouraged to use alternative routes during the parade.
The fire house will be open from noon to 6 pm on Friday, and Saturday from 9 am to noon to accept cakes and baked goods for the auction. All donated items will then be auctioned off at 3 pm. All proceeds from the cake auction go to the Miller Park Restoration Project.
The car show will begin at 10 am with the first 100 cars receiving dash plaques. There will several door prizes including a Stihl leaf blower. Cars, trucks and motorcycles are all welcome. The cost is a $10 donation to the Utica Volunteer Fire Department.
