Mount Vernon Police Department Reports and Incidents 9/17 – 9/20

September 21, 2015 – 11:00 am

Arrests

On September 17, Lauren Miller, 26 of Mansfield, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

On September 18, Brian King, 44 of Mount Vernon, was arrested for driving under an FRA suspension, possessing drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia offenses

On September 19 at 1:44 am officers responded to a report of domestic violence and assault on the first block of S. Jefferson St.  Monte Miracle, 58 of Mount Vernon, and Damien Miracle, 35 of Mount Vernon, were arrested on charges of domestic violence.  Officer Nicholas Myrda was the reporting officer.

Citations

On September 18 Morgan Hazen, 18 of Danville, was cited for failing to assure clear distance ahead.

On September 18, Chase Gallagher, 19 of Mount Vernon, was cited for hazardous/no passing zones.

On September 19 at 11:20 am a crash occurred at the intersection of Adamson St. and Fairmount Ave.  A vehicle was travelling westbound on Adamson St. and attempted to turn right onto Fairmount Ave.  The vehicle failed to maintain proximity to the right-hand side of the road and struck another vehicle stopped facing southbound on Fairmount Ave.  Christina Rose Metcalf, 25 of Mount Vernon, was cited in the crash for turning at intersections.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 19, Joel Butler, 26 of Mount Vernon, was cited for expired or unlawful license plates.

On September 20, Jason Hughes, 42 of Mount Vernon was cited for speeding.

On September 20, Shelia Beckett, 34 of Howard, was cited for expired or unlawful license plates.

Accidents

On September 18 at 11:56 pm a vehicle travelling east bound on Gambier Road struck a deer that ran onto the road. Officer Jason Payne was the reporting officer.

On September 19 at 3:24 pm a crash occurred in the Memorial Park parking lot.   A vehicle exiting the lot allegedly backed into another one parked behind it.  Officer Jason Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 19 at 4:36 pm a crash occurred on Coshocton Ave. at the intersection with Woodlake Trail.  A vehicle was stopped at the traffic light heading westbound when another vehicle heading the same direction rear-ended the first.  The driver of the second vehicle, who is a minor, was cited in the crash for failing to assure clear distance ahead.  Officer Jason Payne was the reporting officer.

Incidents

On September 18 at 1:46 pm officers responded to an assault complaint on the 900 block of W. Vine St.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 18 at 4:03 pm officers responded to a vehicle theft on the 500 block of Coshocton Ave.  A black Toyota was stolen.  Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.

On September 18 at 4:44 pm officers responded to a theft on the first block of Laurelwood Dr. Items including sunglasses, scarf, garage door opener, a driver’s license, check book, bank and credit cards were stolen.  Officer Zachary Uhler was the reporting officer.

On September 18 at 7:51 pm officers carried out a traffic stop on Hamtrack and Clinton Streets.  The vehicle was stopped for a cracked windshield.  While conducting the stop, officers discovered that the driver had several open suspensions.  The passenger didn’t have a valid license either.  The vehicle was impounded. Officer Jason Payne was the reporting officer.

On September 18 at 10:19 pm officers responded to an assault on the 1000 block of Coshocton Ave. Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.

On September 19 at 10:27 pm officers responded to a report of domestic violence on the 800 block of E. Gambier  St.  A green kitchen knife was seized at the scene.  Officer Aaaron Collins was the reporting officer.

On September 20 at 1:32 pm officers responded to a report of misuse of credit cards on the first block of McGibney Rd.  Fraudulent charges of over $400 were made. Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 20 at 6:55 pm officers responded to a theft from a vehicle on Riverside Dr.  Medication, cash and a cell phone were stolen. Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

On September 20 at 8:43 pm officers responded to a report of menacing on the 300 block of Martinsburg Rd.  Threats were reported.  Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.

On September 20 at 1 am officers responded to a curfew violation on the 400 block of S. Gay St. A possible theft of change also occurred.  Officer Nicholas Myrda was the reporting officer.
