The Knox County Sheriff's Office has begun its regular sex offender compliance check. When conducting the
check, officers attempt to verify that all of the registered sex
offenders in the county are living at the location on their
registration, generally by visiting the address.
This check has yielded four charges. Gary McCloy, Marlon Major, and Michael Smithhisler have been
arrested for failure to provide a change of address. David Boyd was
arrested on a parole violation. Two others who are not sex offenders, Catherine Tubaugh and Christopher Collinsworth were arrested on parole violations
Of the 88 registered offenders living in the county,
officers have verified addresses on 62 of them, and are continuing to
follow up on the rest.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the
Mount Vernon Police Department, the Danville Police Department, Adult Court Services from the Knox County Common Pleas Court, and the
State Parole Authority.
