Arrests

On September 8 at 10:40 pm, Scott Schaade, 19 of Mount Vernon, was arrested on charges of criminal mischief and minor possession/consumption.

On September 11 at 1:15 pm officers responded to a theft on the 800 block of Coshocton Ave. Richard Denio, 23 of Rockville Maryland, was arrested on charges of theft and probation violation.  Denio attempted to shoplift chili cheese dogs, sausages and energy drinks.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 11 at 2:25 pm officers responded to a disturbance on N. Park and E. Hamtramck streets.  Michael Thompson, 24 of Mount Gilead, was issued a summons for assault.  Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

On September 11 at 3:48 pm officers responded to disorderly conduct on the first block of W. Curtis St.  Seth Spaulding, 33 of Mount Vernon, and Samantha Byers, 22 of Mount Vernon, were arrested for disorderly conduct.  Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.

Citations

On September 13 at 11:37 am Christopher Creech, 46 of Mount Vernon was cited for driving without a license.  Officers also recovered a prescription bottle with Lorazepams, percocets, a baggie containing marijuana and a red, metal pipe.

On September 11 at 7:29 am an accident occurred on Coshocton Ave. at the intersection with Upper Gilchrist Rd.  On vehicle was travelling east bound on Coshocton Ave.  A second vehicle was travelling south bound on Upper Gilchrist Rd.  The first vehicle ran a red light at the intersection and struck the second vehicle on the right side, sending the vehicle spinning off to the curb.  Harry Whitecraft, 63 of Mount Vernon, was cited for failing to stop at the red light.  Officer Zachary Miller was the reporting officer.

On September 11 at 3:30 pm an accident occurred on Coshocton Ave.  One vehicle slowed and stopped for traffic and the second vehicle rear-ended the first.  Rusti M. Goines, 24 of Mount Vernon, was cited in the crash for failing to assure clear distance ahead.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 11 at 4:28pm an accident occurred on E. Sugar St. at the intersection with Eliott St.  A vehicle was travelling east bound on E. Sugar St. when the brakes failed and the vehicle struck the curb and a street sign.  Margaret Mroczkowski, 66 of Howard was cited for failure to control.  Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

On September 11 at 4:40 pm an accident occurred on Coshocton Ave at Highland Dr.  A vehicle was travelling eastbound on Coshocton Ave and rear-ended a second vehicle stopped for traffic.   Chad Rice was cited for failing to assure cleared distance ahead.  Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.

On September 11 at 4:21 pm Randall Bialota, 18 of Mount Vernon, was cited for failing to assure clear distance ahead and for driving without a license. 

On September 12 Allison Dresher, 18 of Croton, was cited for operation at a stop sign.

On September 13 Rachel Peters, 36 of Mount Vernon, was cited for not wearing a seatbelt and requiring an exhaust system.

Incidents

On September 11 at 12:51 pm officers responded to a fraud complaint on the 100 block of E. High St.  Forged wire transfer documents were reported.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 12 at 10:09 am officers responded to a burglary on the 700 block of Follin Ave.  Drip pans and elements from a range were stolen.  Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

On September 12 at 1:06 pm officers responded to a vandalism incident on the 900 block of Coshocton Ave.  The windshield and grill of a vehicle were cracked.  Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

On September 12 at 8:56 pm officers responded to a burglary on the first block of Washington St.  Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

On September 13, officers found a plastic bag with purple and green vegetation.  The bag was turned into evidence with a request to be destroyed.  Officer Jason Payne was the reporting officer.

On September 13 at 11:38 am officers responded to an activated alarm on the 800 block of Harcourt Road.  Officers discovered the backdoor unsecured.  They checked the building and found no one.  Officers then secured the door and attempted to contact key holders who were unavailable.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 13 at 4:35 pm officers responded to a theft on the 100 block of McGibney Rd.  A 48 inch LG plasma TV was stolen.  Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.
