Mount Vernon Police Department Reports and Incidents 9/03 – 9/07

Arrests

On September 3, Daniel Morris, 29 of Mt. Vernon, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

On September 3 at 9:07 pm officers responded to East High and Ringold Streets on a report of a suspicious woman.  Officers recovered a baggie containing a crystal like substance and one suboxen pill.  Carol Gallagher of Danville was arrested on charges of obstructing official business.  Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

On September 4, Jeremy Morris, 26, was arrested on charges of an outstanding warrant, possessing marihuana drug paraphernalia, and drug abuse.

On September 4, Shannon Poulin, 25 of Mount Vernon, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.

On September 5, Luke Wilson, 24 of Mount Vernon, was arrested on charges of possessing drug abuse instruments. 

On September 6 at 3:41 pm officers responded to a theft on the 800 block of Coshocton Ave. Marie Daley, 21, of Danville, was arrested for shoplifting.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 7 at 2:34 am officers responded to individuals possessing drug abuse instruments on Washington and Chester Streets.  Two syringes, a syringe cap, a metal spoon, green and black string and a Ziplock type bag with powder residue were recovered.  Joshua Wheeler, 35 of Mt Vernon, was arrested on charges of possessing drug abuse instruments. Officer Reginald Young was the reporting officer.

On September 7 at 3:22 am officers responded to a disturbance on the 900 block of Beech St. Robert Balcom, 24 of Mt Vernon was arrested on charges of domestic violence, menacing and obstructing official business.  Officer Zachary Miller was the reporting officer.

Incidents

On September 3 at 7:21 pm officers responded to a report of a theft on the 1500 block of Coshocton Ave.  Officer Andrew Burns was the reporting officer.

On September 5 at 7:52 am officers responded to a report of domestic violence on the 100 block of Mansfield Ave.  Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

On September 4 at 8:12 pm officers responded to a theft on the 300 block of S. Main St.  A panda case on a slide phone was stolen.  Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

On September 5, officers responded to an activated business alarm on the 100 block of Howard St.  Officers checked the exterior of the building and found everything to be in order.  Dispatch was unable to make contact with a key-holder.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 5 at 1:22 pm officers responded to a theft on the 500 block of E. Burgess St. The complainant reported that his orange, blue, silver and black 26 inch Treck mountain bike was stolen from his residence.  He also reported that the bike had been locked, but that the suspect cut the chain.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On September 5, officers responded to a theft on the 100 block of S. Main St.  In a shoplifting event, a Lumens light, trek jersey and Bontrager light were stolen.  The merchandise valued a total of $419. Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

On September 5 at 8:35 pm officers responded to a theft on the 1000 block of Coshocton Ave.  Merchandise was stolen from a store.  Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

On September 5 at 9:54 pm officers responded to criminal mischief on the 1400 block of N. Mulberry St.  The windshield of a vehicle was cracked and pop was dumped all over the interior of the vehicle.

On September 6 at 5:35 am officers responded to a suspicious vehicle related to a vehicle theft on the 10 block of Lawn Ave.  Officers recovered a white piece of paper with a heel print, a white scarf, a pair of black yoga pants, a pair of sunglasses and one black and purple striped blouse. Officer Zachary Miller was the reporting officer.

On September 6 at 9:17 am officers responded to a theft of a motor vehicle on the 700 block of Coshocton Ave.  The vehicle was recovered.  A number of stolen items were also recovered and officers returned items to their owners. Officer Nicholas Myrda was the reporting officer.

On September 6 at 11:06 am officers responded to a theft on the 100 block of E. Pleasant St.  An Ipad was stolen.  Officer Travis Tharp was the reporting officer.

On September 6 at 5:59 pm officers responded to a theft on the 800 block of Coshocton Ave.  Two bottles of vodka and a container of daiquiri mix were stolen.  Officer Michael Wheeler was the reporting officer.

On September 7 at 8:21 am officers responded to an alleged burglary in progress on the 100 block of Howard St.  Officers found the front entrance and a west side window open.  They didn’t find anyone inside.  Officers presume the building to be vacant with squatters possibly staying inside.  The officers attempted to contact the property owner, but were unsuccessful and were also unable to secure the property.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.
