August 24, 2015 – 10:40 am

Citations

On August 21 at 10:47 am there was a crash at S. Mulberry St. and Ohio Ave.  A vehicle travelling southbound on Mulberry and failed to stop for a red light, striking a second vehicle that was travelling westbound on Ohio Ave.  Reta Biggs, of Gambier and driver of the first vehicle, was cited for failing to stop at the red light.  Officer Brian Weiser was the reporting officer.

On August 21 at 7:07 pm a crash occurred on North Elm and Walnut Streets.  A vehicle was travelling eastbound on Walnut and attempted to turn south onto N. Elm.  The vehicle veered off to the left side of the road and struck a tree.  The driver, who is a minor, was cited in the crash for failure to control the vehicle and for not wearing a seat belt.   Officer Jason Payne was the reporting officer. 

On August 23 at 4:52 pm a crash occurred at the intersection of N. Main and E. Pleasant streets.  Two vehicles were stopped at the traffic light when the first attempted to maneuver out of the intersection to allow oncoming traffic to pass. While maneuvering, the vehicle backed up into the second vehicle.  Suzette Wright, of Mount Vernon and driver of the first vehicle, was cited for “starting and backing vehicles”.  Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

Accidents

On August 22 at 7:53 pm, there was a crash at the intersection of W. Chestnut and N. Mulberry Streets.  A bicycle was travelling southbound on N. Mulberry St. and ran a red light, striking a vehicle travelling westbound on W. Chestnut.  Witnesses reported that the vehicle had a green light at the intersection.  Officer Travis Tharp was the reporting officer.

On August 23 at 8:55 am an accident occurred on East Sugar St. close to Third Ave.  A vehicle was parked eastbound on E. Sugar St. and a second vehicle travelling on Sugar sideswiped the first.  The second vehicle left the scene without reporting the crash.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

Incidents

On August 21 officers responded to a theft on the 900 block of W. Chestnut.  Personal property was removed from the garage of the complainant.  Officer Scott McKnight was the reporting officer.

On August 21 at 1:05 pm officers responded to a report of found property on the 900 block of W. Chestnut.  An Apple Ipad was found.  Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On August 21 at 1:45 pm officers responded to a report of alleged assault on the 900 block of W. Vine St. Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

On August 21 at 3:49 pm officers responded to a theft on the 200 block of Shirley Ave.  Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

On August 21 at 8:00 pm officers responded to an assault on the 400 block of N. Harrison St.  Officer Zachary Uhler was the reporting officer.

On August 21 at 9:40 officers responded to an issue regarding a web page on the 1300 block of New Gambier Rd.  Officer Jason Payne was the reporting officer.

On August 21 at 11:15 pm officers responded to a theft on the 1300 block of Coshocton Ave.  The victim reported that her wallet, cell phone and keys were stolen.  Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

On August 22 at 12:20 am officers responded to an incident of domestic violence that occurred on the 500 block of E. Ohio Ave.  There was also an incident of unauthorized use of a vehicle involved.  Officer Nicholas Myrda was the reporting officer.

On August 22 at 3:50 am officers responded to vandalism on the first block of Martinsburg Rd. Black spray paint was painted on the exterior of a business.  Officer Lewis Qade was the reporting officer.

On August 22, officers responded to a fraud report on the 300 block of Vernonview Dr. The complainant reported that fraudulent withdrawals occurred totaling $98,000. 

On August 22 officers responded to an animal bite on the 700 block of E. Pleasant St.  Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

On August 22 at 3:20 pm officers responded to vandalism on the 1500 block of Coshocton Ave.  The victim reported that her vehicle was damaged while shopping.  A dent and a small red paint transfer were observed on the car. Officer Jason Payne was the reporting officer.

On August 23 at 5:06 pm officers responded to an incident of menacing on the 500 block of E. Ohio Ave. Officer Zachary Uhler was the reporting officer.
