Mount Vernon Police Department Reports, Citations, and Arrests 7/17 - 7/20



Incidents and Reports

On Friday, July 17, a Hyundai Elantra, driven by Andrea Huckle, 53, of Columbus, was southbound on S. Mulberry St., which is a one way street in the right lane of travel. Huckle attempted to turn eastbound onto E. Vine St. when her vehicle struck a 2014 Toyota Camry, driven by Melodee Hitchcock, 70, of Mount Vernon, which was also on S. Mulberry St. in the left lane of travel. Huckle was cited in the incident.


On July 17 at approximately 8:23 AM, officers responded to 510 E. Burgess St., upon a call from Larry G. Faith, on a breaking and entering incident. Items reported stolen were a Black and Decker circular  saw, a soldering gun, and a microphone. Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.  


On Friday, July 17 at approximately 8:36 AM, officers responded to 75 Sychar Rd., upon a call from Joel D. Butler, on a breaking and entering complaint. Items valued at $200 were stolen from an unlocked vehicle by force. The investigation is pending. Officer Justin Trowbridge was the reporting officer.

 

On Friday, July 17 at approximately 9:58 AM, officers responded to a call from Shaun Farner at 14 Elizabeth St., on a theft from vehicle complaint. Items alleged to be stolen were a spare key and remote for a 2005 Dodge Magnum, a backpack which contained a phone charger, clipboard, and other miscellaneous items, and a blue Parrot ear piece. Officer Brian Weiser was the reporting officer.

 

On Friday, July 17 at 3:39 PM, an employee of Walmart, located at 1575 Coshocton Ave., reported a shoplifting incident. Necklace supplies were reported stolen. Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

 

On Friday, July 17, Officer Nicholas Holdren responded to 100 McGibney Rd., upon a call from the housing administrator of the apartments, on a report of found drug paraphernalia. The administrator reported to the officer that someone had turned into him a syringe and a 5 dollar bill which had a white powdery substance on it.

 

On Friday, July 17 at 4:49 PM, Officer Nicholas Holdren responded to 1545 Coshocton Ave. on a report of a hypodermic needle found in the parking lot near Aldi.

 

On Friday, July 17 at 4:58 PM, Officers Zachary Uhler and Jason Payne responded to 21 Marion St. in reference to an assault.

 

On Friday, July 17 at approximately 5:30 PM, Officer Andrew Burns responded to a call from Carla F. Swallow at 806 N. Gay St., on a theft from vehicle complaint. Items alleged stolen were a Radio Flyer child’s scooter and a child’s Spider-Man themed bicycle helmet. The vehicle was reported to be unlocked.

 

On Friday, July 17 at approximately 5:44 PM, Officer Jason Payne responded to a call from Rebecca Highman at 36 Marion St., on a theft complaint. Items alleged stolen were a 2 gallon gas can and an MTD push mower.

 

On Saturday, July 18 at approximately 10:32 AM, Officer Brian Weiser responded to a call from Heather Wares at 720 N. Main St., on a theft complaint. A bracelet was allegedly stolen.

 

On Saturday, July 18 at approximately 4:09 PM, Tyler Kempton received a call from the Ohio State Highway Patrol that his vehicle had been involved in an accident. Kempton had left his vehicle near the corner of Ohio Ave. and S. Mulberry St. the night before because he had been unable to drive. Officer Zachary Uhler is the investigating officer.

 

On Sunday, July 19, at 11:31 AM, Officer Justin Trowbridge responded to a Kennelyn C. Alexander, at 107 N. Gay St. on a vandalism complaint.

 

On Sunday, July 19 at approximately 4:50 PM, Officer Zachary Uhler responded to a call from Hermann F. Edmister, at 212 E. Pleasant St., on a theft from vehicle complaint. Items alleged stolen were a Tom-Tom GPS Unit and $8.00 in change.

 

On Sunday, July 19 at approximately 6:18 PM, officers responded to a disturbance at 111 W. Pleasant St. Officer Aaron Collins was the reporting officer.

 

On Sunday, July 19 at approximately 10:29 PM, officers were dispatched to 200 Shirley Ave. on a report of 6-8 people fighting. Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

 

On Monday, July 20 at approximately 3:11 AM, officers responded to 932 W. High St. on a report of a disturbance. Officer Zachary Miller was the reporting officer.

 

On Monday, July 20, 2015, officers responded to a call from 602 Martinsburg Rd. when they arrived, Eric Browning reported a 26 inch Hyper Havoc Boy’s Bike stolen. Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

 

On Monday, July 20 at 1:56 PM, officers responded to a call from 855 Coshocton Ave. Danielle McManaway reported the theft of a pink flower diaper bag and a wallet from her vehicle. Officer Scott McKnight was the reporting officer.

 

On Monday, July 20 at 2:30 PM, officers responded to a call from Connie Blubaugh at 103 Ringold St. Blubaugh reported the theft of two recycling bins. Officer David McElroy was the reporting officer.

 

On Monday, July 20 at 4:07 PM, officers responded to a call at 304 N. Center St. on a report of vandalism. Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

 

On Monday, July 20 at 7:17 PM, officers responded to a call at 6 W. Burgess St. on a report of a theft. Allegedly stolen was a Baker skateboard. Officer Zachary Uhler was the reporting officer.

 

On Monday, July 20, 2015 at approximately 7:38 PM, officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 206 Shirley Ave. Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.

 

On Monday, July 20, 2015 at approximately 8:18 PM, officer Nicholas Holdren was flagged down on the square in reference to a domestic disturbance that had occurred at 112 Sunset St.



Citations and Arrests

On July 17 at 10:42 AM, Ronald McAllister, 57, of Mount Vernon, was arrested charges of domestic violence and assault.


On July 17 at 4:46 PM, Matthew Mogan, 31, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on charges of violating a temporary protection order.


On July 17 at 1:00 PM, Marlon Brooks, 55, of Howard, was arrested on charges of telephone harassment, aggravated menacing, and menacing by stalking.  


On July 16 at 10:02 PM, Joshua Proper, 32, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest.


On July 17 at 2:48 AM, Michael St. Jean, 35, of Columbus, was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.


On July 17 at 7:25 AM, Andrea Huckle, 53, of Columbus, was cited for improper turning at an intersection.


On July 17 at 11:45 PM, Erika Kirk, 32, of Utica, was cited for driving under suspension/revocation, failure to transfer registration, and expired or unlawful license plates.


On July 18 at 3:09 AM, Michael St. Jean, 35, of Columbus, was cited for driving under suspension/revocation and expired or unlawful license plates.


On July 18 at 10:23 AM, Dakota Lonsinger, 29, of Mount Vernon was cited for a speeding, lack of a windshield, and a seatbelt violation.


On July 18 at 9:29 PM, Matthew Mogan, 31, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.


On July 18, at 10:19 PM, Jody Sherman, 47, of Mount Vernon was cited for failure to have a proper exhaust system and driving under suspension/revocation.


On July 19 at 4:33 PM, Phillip Duffey, 38, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.


On July 19 at 6:16 PM, Dakota Rhodes, 21, of Mount Vernon, was cited for driving the wrong way on a one way street and driving under suspension/revocation.


On July 19 at 8:13 PM, Daniel Houser, 24, of Mount Vernon, was cited for expired or unlawful license plates.


On July 19 at 8:46 PM, Abraham Desich, 32, of Centerburg, was cited for a tail light violation and driving under suspension/revocation.


On July 19 at 9:15 PM, Tiffany Fulton, 33, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on Disorderly Conduct charges.


On July 20 at 3:03 AM, Charles Hess, 46, of Mount Vernon was arrested on charges of Misuse of the 9-1-1 system.


On July 20 at 6:45 PM, Melisa Selby, 43, of Mount Vernon was arrested on an outstanding warrant.


On July 20 at 7:00 PM, Thomas Glick , 23, of Mount Vernon, was charged with domestic violence and assault.
