Mount Vernon Police Department Police Reports - July 16, 2015

At 8:39 AM, a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by James Day, 26, of Mansfield, was eastbound on W. Chestnut St. when it struck a 2013 Acura RDX, driven by Jenny Ravindran, 35, of Westerville at the intersection of Chestnut St. and N. Main St.
At 8:23 AM, officer Justin Trowbridge responded to 109 E. Lamartin St., Mount Vernon on a stolen vehicle complaint, reported by Chip R. Sargent. The investigation is still in progress.
At 8:50 AM, officer Justin Trowbridge responded to a report of a found bicycle near 113 E. Lamartine St, Mount Vernon by Allen E. Earnest, of Mount Vernon. Having been unable to find the bicycle's owner, the officer put the bicycle in the city impound lot.
At 10:41 AM, Officer Justin Trowbridge responded to 711 Follin Ave, Apt A on a report of a theft. A bank ATM card was reported stolen by Kevin L. Carpenter, of Mount Vernon. The investigation is still in progress.
At 12:55 AM, a theft and misuse of a credit card was reported at 400 W. Chestnut St by Michael A. Cook, of Newark. A $122 purchase was allegedly made on the card. The investigation is still in progress. Officer Brian Weiser is investigating the incident.
At 2:52 PM, Officers responded to the First Knox National Bank branch located at 8641 Blackjack Rd. on a robbery complaint. Officer Nicholas Holdren was the reporting officer.
At 3:52 PM, Officer Nicholas Holdren responded to the CVS, located at 900 Coshocton Ave. on a report of a theft.
At 6:30 PM, Officer Jason Payne responded to report of a used syringe that had been found behind Dan Emmett School.
At 6:35 PM, officer Jason Payne responded to a report of a suspicious person. A caller reported that a person in the area of 113 W. Burgess St. was behind a vacant neighbor's house. The person grabbed three bags and took them from the back yard and placed them across the street from 119 W. Burgess St. The person saw the caller watching him and took off running toward Sandusky St.
The suspicious person is described as male with a yellow backpack.
At approximately 9:48 PM, Officer Nicholas Holdren responded to 103 S. Norton St. on a report of a theft from a vehicle.
At 10:02 PM, officers responded to 100 McGibney Rd. on a domestic dispute.
