Events Held at Community Libraries to Celebrate End of Summer Program

Books, prizes, local heroes and big vehicles will be part of closing parties as the children’s summer reading programs wind down this week.

The Fredericktown Community Library will welcome local heroes, big trucks and rescue vehicles to their closing party on Wednesday, July 8, 3:00 – 7:00 in the library parking lot. Bring a camera and have fun. Children who have completed their summer reading requirements will receive a free book.

The Gambier Community Library will hand out books to children who have completed their reading requirements as part of the “Be a Hero READ” summer reading program on Wednesday, July 8 and the Danville Public Library will host their closing program on Thursday, July 9. Participants are encouraged to wear a favorite hero costume and stop by either library during business hours.

The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County will host a closing children’s summer reading program party in the parking lot of the main library on Thursday, July 9, 10:00-Noon. Participants who completed the reading requirements will receive a free book and be eligible for prizes. Wear a favorite superhero costume and join the fun!
