Mount Vernon Police Department Reports from 5/3

Pablo Hereda, 19, of Mount Vernon, was cited for failure to control.

Idrissa Quedraogo, 47, of Columbus, was cited for driving outside of marked/continuous lanes.

Christopher hutton, 34, of Chillicothe, was cited for Driving under an FRA suspension, expired or unlawful license plates, and failure to display valid plates.

Carrie Wright, 31, of Granville, was arrested. She is charged with endangering children.


An officer responded to  the 400 block of W. Vine St. in reference to found property. A complainant indicated a syringe found on the ground. The officer placed the syringe in a sharps container.

An officer responded to the 100 block of Mansfield Ave. in reference to a juvenile.

An officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of Newark Rd. in reference to the theft of a portable generator.


A 1991 Volkswagen Passat, operated by Pablo J. Herida, of Mount Vernon, was traveling westbound on W. Vine St. Herida lost control of the vehicle and struck a 2013 Ford Focus in the rear. The Focus was pushed forward from the impact into a 2002 Dodge Intrepid. the Focus and Intrepid were both parked and unoccupied.

A semi truck, operated by Idrissa Quedraogo, of Columbus, was in the left turn lane at the intersection of Coshocton Ave. and Verndale Dr. A 2007 Ford Fusion, operated by Mark Woodruff, of Mount Vernon, was in the right turn lane. Quedraogo's vehicle entered the right turn lane to make a wide left turn, striking Woodruff's vehicle.
