MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene University held
their 45th annual Homecoming celebration Nov. 13-14. Homecoming
highlights included Homecoming chapel,
the Alumni of the Year Announcement,
the Lady Cougars volleyball championship, and the
Homecoming queen coronation.
Homecoming chapel featured worship music led by an alumni band.
"The MVNU Narrative" service included alumni representatives
from each graduating class lighting an Edison bulb. During the service,
the Alumni of the Year Award was given to Kurt ('95) and Kayla Bosworth
'94). Kayla works for Bethany Christian Services as an
International Adoption Specialist and Kurt is a Worship Leader at
Hilliard Church of the Nazarene.
The Lady Cougars volleyball team won the Crossroads League
Championship game against Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU). Coach Paul
Swanson received the 2015 Coach of the Year award from the Crossroads
League. Senior Marlowe Beatty was awarded the 2015 Crossroads League
Libero of the Year. The Lady Cougars will advance to the NAIA National
Championship Opening Round on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m.,
in Ariel Arena against Ashford University.
Andrea Neuenshwander, senior, was crowned the 2015 Homecoming Queen. She was accompanied by fiance, Andrew Ballenger.
