MOUNT VERNON - Albert F. Johnson III, 33, of Mansfield, who is charged with felony rape in the first degree and felony gross sexual imposition in the third degree, appeared at a criminal arraignment in Knox County Common Pleas Court today before Judge Otho Eyster. He was released on his own recognizance.

Johnson was indicted on the charges at the beginning of April. A press release sent out by the Knox County Prosecutor's Office on April 12 regarding the indictment stated that "the indictment alleges that the victim was less than thirteen years of age when the offense occurred".

Johnson was ordered to appear at the Knox County Sheriff's Office for fingerprinting within 24 hours. No other court dates are yet listed.
