Mount Vernon Police Department Reports from 4/14

Elijah Shields , 23, of Mount Vernon, was cited for driving or physical control under the influence.

Dane Cullen, 24, of Mount Vernon, was cited for expired or unlawful license plates.

Mitchell Billman, 33, of mount Vernon was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Stevens St. Cyr, 37, of Mount Vernon was arrested. He was charged with two probation violations and falsification. He was cited for driving under suspension/revocation and a headlight violation.


Officers were dispatched to the 0-50 block of Monroe St. on a disturbance. The responding officer gave a BOLO on a male suspect who drove away from the scene prior to their arrival. The responding officer located the driver and identified him as Elijah Shields. Shields was charged with driving or physical control under the influence and was transported to the Knox County Jail.

At approximately 6:00 AM, an officer responded to the 500 block of E. Chestnut St. on a disturbance complaint.

An officer responded to the 400 block of N. Sandusky St. The complainant indicated he had found a clear plastic bottle containing hypodermic needles under his truck. He also located a green money bag that contained two spoons that appeared to have been burnt. The officer collected the items and placed them in the evidence locker at the police department for destruction.

At 9:19 Pm, an officer initiated a traffic stop on a 1997 Toyota Camry on Plaza Dr. at Vernonview Dr. for a minor traffic infraction. The officer found the driver to have two active warrants. He was taken into custody. The vehicle was impounded.
