Mount Vernon Police Department Reports from 4/7

Arrests/Citations

Nola Smith, 42, of Columbus, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.


Miranda Wintz, 34, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.


Julie Dean, 38, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.


Caren Rains, 33, of Richmond, Indiana, was cited for speeding.


Courtney Sand, 20, of Mansfield, was cited for speeding.


Shelee Benson, 43, of Mount Vernon was arrested on a probation violation and was charged with theft.


Starr Benson, 18, of Utica, was cited for assured clear distance ahead.



Reports

Officers were in the area of Shirley Ave. in reference to a disturbance. Miranda Wintz, Nola Smith, and Julie Dean were all arrested on outstanding warrants.



Accidents

A 1998 Cadillac Deville, operated by Bryan T. Singleton, of Fredericktown, and a 2003 Chevrolet S10, operated by Van A. Justus, of Marengo, were traveling eastbound on Coshocton Ave. and stopped at the Verndale Dr. traffic signal. Singleton proceeded to move his vehicle when the traffic signal changed, striking Justus' vehicle, which was waiting for traffic to move.


A 1999 Dodge Dakota, operated by Starr L. Benson, of Utica, and a 2016 Ford Escape, operated by Jessica R. Massa, of Mount Vernon, were stopped westbound on Coshocton Ave. Benson indicated that she took her foot off the break pedal and struck Massa's vehicle in the rear end.
