Grand Jury Indicts Eighteen

MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Grand Jury indicted 18 people for felonies in September, eight of which involved drugs.  


Jamie L. Clawson, 40, of Bellville was indicted for Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, a second-degree felony, Failure to Stop After an Accident, a third-degree felony, Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, a first-degree misdemeanor, Tampering with Evidence, a third-degree felony, and Falsification, a first-degree misdemeanor. Clawson is alleged to have been intoxicated when he hit a motorcycle, fatally injuring its driver. This case was investigated by OSP Trooper Rebekka Robinson.

Andrew M. Wiegand, 37, of Thornville was indicted for Importuning, a fifth-degree felony. This case was investigated by KCSO Det. Sgt. Danial Bobo.

Jason T. Winkler, 38, of Burbank was indicted for Compelling Prostitution, a third-degree felony. This case was investigated by Det. Sgt. Danial Bobo.

Christopher J.P. Trice, 28, of Utica was indicted for two counts of Assault on a Police Officer, fourth-degree felonies, and Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor. Trice is alleged to have assaulted Ptl. Jessica Butler and Cpl. Reginald Young during a routine stop. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. Jessica Butler

Shad W. Lynds, 44, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Having Weapons Under Disability and Domestic Violence, both third-degree felonies. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. David McElroy

Nicholas S. Darrah, 33, of Uniontown, was indicted for Failure to Provide Change of Address, a second-degree felony. This case was investigated by KCSO Dep. Tim Knell.

Robert T. Balcom, 25, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Burglary, a third-degree felony, and Theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. Balcom is alleged to have broken into a home on Morris Street and stole a tv. This case was investigated by KCSO Dep. Ryan Burgess.

Amanda M. Riel, 26, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Theft of Drugs, a fourth-degree felony. Riel is alleged to have stolen oxycodone while working as a home health aide. This case was investigated by FPD Ptl. Rene Joris.

Lisa M. Sharp, 36, of Danville was indicted for three counts of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, all fourth-degree felonies. Sharp is alleged to have been selling methamphetamine during multiple incidents. This case was investigated by DPD Officer Mark Perkins and MVPD Det. Cpl. JT DeChant.

Lea K. Six, 29, of Brinkhaven was indicted for Grand Theft, a fourth-degree felony, and Forgery, a fifth-degree felony. Six is alleged to have stolen $8,300.00 from Hometown Market. This case was investigated by Ofc. Mark Perkins.

William A. Frederick, Jr., 18, and Cody A. Hess, 19, both of Danville were indicted for Breaking and Entering, a fifth-degree felony, and Criminal Damaging, a second-degree misdemeanor. Frederick and Hess are alleged to have broken into the Danville Mini Mart after smashing in a glass door. This case was investigated by Ofc. Mark Perkins.

Joseph S. Spearman, 34, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Having Weapons While Under Disability, a third-degree felony. Spearman has a previous 2008 conviction for Aggravated Possession of Drugs that prevents him from owning a firearm. This case was investigated by KCSO Dep. Tim Knell.

Sara J. Jacobs, 21, was indicted for Receiving Stolen Property, a fifth-degree felony. Jacobs is alleged to have been in possession of stolen license plate. This case was investigated by KCSO Dep. Masen Gilbert.

Cheryl R. Moore, 44, of Howard was indicted for Theft of Drugs, a fourth-degree felony. Moore is alleged to have stolen Percocet while working as a home health aide. This case was investigated by KCSO Dep. Kreig Cline.

Patrick T. Underwood, 32, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Failure to Provide Change of Address, a fourth-degree felony, and Domestic Violence, a first-degree misdemeanor. This case was investigated by KCSO Dep. Dan Selby and MVPD Sgt. Robert Morgan.

Trenton A. Flack, 21, of Centerburg was indicted for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Flack is alleged to have been found in possession of methamphetamine after officers responded to a disturbance call. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. Qade Lewis.

Raymond L. Burkett, Sr., 39, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle. This case was investigated by KCSO Sgt. Wayne Noggle.
