Grand Jury Indicts 21 in Second Session

MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Grand Jury indicted 21 people for felonies on Monday.  Knox County Prosecutor Chip McConville reported that this will bring the total number of indictments to 42 for the month of June. 

Abbie Hinger, 27, of Mount Vernon was indicted for two counts of Receiving Stolen Property, both fifth-degree felonies. Hinger is alleged to have passed two checks at PNC Bank for a total of $220.00. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. Sarah Wheeler.

Julie K. Noel, 37, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor. Jessie Miller, 29, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and Possession of Marihuana, a minor misdemeanor. This case was investigated by MVPD Cpl. Reginald Young.

Jason Longstreth, 33, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a fifth-degree felony, Illegal Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, and Possession of Marihuana, a minor misdemeanor. This case was investigated by Cpl. Reginald Young.

Angel Salinas, 19, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Burglary, a second-degree felony, Burglary, a third-degree felony, and Criminal Damaging, a second-degree misdemeanor. Andrew D. Hartley, 49, also of Mount Vernon was indicted for complicity to all three charges. Salinas is accused of kicking in the door of a residence in Gambier after his dad, Hartley, dropped him off a short distance away. This case was investigated by KCSO Det. Sgt. David Light.

Joseph Worley, 39, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Breaking and Entering and Theft, fifth-degree felonies, and Criminal Damaging, a second degree misdemeanor. The indictment alleges that Worley broke into Do-It-Best Hardware in Centerburg and stole three Stihl chainsaws. This case was investigated by KCSO Det. Sgt. James Ferenbaugh.

Richard L. Johnson, 33, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Failure to Provide Change of Address, a third-degree felony. Johnson was previously convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in Knox County Common Pleas Court in 2008. This case was investigated by KCSO Det. Sgt. David Light.

Cara Grimes, 23, of Centerburg was indicted for Breaking and Entering, a fifth-degree felony, and Theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. The indictment alleges that Grimes stole cigarettes from Centerburg Shell in March. This case was investigated by Det. Sgt. David Light.

Angel Jose, 23, of Mansfield was indicted for Complicity to Theft, a fifth-degree felony. David Stamper, 33, and Timothy Stamper, 35 both of Mansfield were indicted for Theft, a fifth-degree felony. The three are alleged to have stolen four chainsaws from Tractor Supply Company in Mount Vernon in May. This case was investigated by MVPD Sgt. Robert Morgan.

Kristi J. Frabott, 33, of Centerburg was indicted for Theft and Forgery, both fifth-degree felonies, and Theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. Frabott is alleged to have stolen and forged check belonging to Centerburg Shell. This case was investigated by KCSO Dep. JP Paul.

Nicholas L. Higgins, 36, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Driving While Intoxicated, a fourth-degree felony, and Driving Under Suspension, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Higgins has previously been convicted of five or more violations of driving while intoxicated in the last 20 years. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. Nicholas Myrda.

Carl W. Scott, 76, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Gross Sexual Imposition, a third-degree felony. This case was investigated by KCSO Det. Danial Bobo.

Mark E. Buchannan, 48, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Compelling Prostitution, a third-degree felony, and Disseminating Matter Harmful to Juveniles, a first-degree misdemeanor. The indictment alleges that Buchannan agreed to pay money to a person, who he believed to be a minor, in exchange for sexual activity. This case was investigated by Det. Danial Bobo.

Wayne E. Chickering, 68, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Public Indecency, a fifth-degree felony. Chickering has been convicted of three or more public indecency offences making this a felony charge. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. David McElroy.

Nickolas Gillman, 37, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Receiving Stolen Property of a Motor Vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, and Possession of Heroin, a fifth-degree felony. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. Matthew Haver.

Trevor Hagans, 27, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Theft and Receiving Stolen Property, both fifth-degree felonies, and Misuse of a Credit Card, a first-degree misdemeanor. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. Jason Payne.

Miranda L. Wintz, 35, of Mount Vernon was indicted of Possession of Heroin, a fifth-degree felony, and Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. Tyler Berger.

Earl G. Scoles, Jr., 46, of Mount Vernon was indicted for Domestic Violence, a fourth-degree felony, and Assault, a first-degree misdemeanor. This case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. David McElroy.
