Arrests/Citations/Charges

Madison Freimuth, 21, of Noblesville, Indiana, was cited for changing lanes without safety.


Jerry Looney, 35, of Danville, was cited for driving on a temporary permit without a licensed driver.


Nathaniel Elswick, 33, of Howard, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension and expired or unlawful license plates.


Jack Dearth, 77, of Mount Vernon, was cited for failure to control/weaving course.


Micah Baird, 40, of Centerburg, was cited for driving outside marked or continuous lines.


Lorenda Stalnaker, 47,m of Mount Vernon, was cited for failure to control/weaving course.


Terry Collins, 23, of Mount Vernon, was cited for squealing tires or cracked exhaust noise.


Jason DeCosky, 43, of Howard, was cited for speeding.


Daniel Huffman, 29, of Mount Vernon, was charged with Criminal Mischief.


Stephanie Kelley, 19, of Mount Vernon, was cited for driving under and FRA suspension, expired or unlawful license plates, and changing lanes without safety. She was charged with hypodermic possession/display.


Karin Spearman, 42, of Mount Vernon, was cited for speeding.


Brischeau Lang, 30, of Mount Vernon, was cited for failure to control/weaving course and expired or unlawful license plates.



Reports

An officer responded to the area of Marion and Madison Streets in reference to an assault.


Units were dispatched to the 0-100 block of Washington St. in reference to a disturbance.


An officer responded to the 300 block of N. Main St. in reference to a disturbance.


An officer responded to the area of N. Center St. and Ruggles St. in reference to an animal. The dog was turned over to Knox County Animal Control.


Officers responded to the 900 block of W. High St. in reference to a vandalism complaint. A doorjam was reported damaged. They spoke with the parties involved and photographs and a written statement were obtained.


At approximately 2:30 AM on June 11, an officer was patrolling on S. Main St. when he observed two individuals walking separately. A juvenile was issued a curfew violation citation and returned to her residence.


An officer responded to the Riverside Park ball diamond in reference to a theft. according to a person at the ball field, someone broke into the locked supply shed between June 9 and June 10 and stole 12 green rock softballs, a four foot field rake, and used the lime to draw a male genital on the field. The person had cleared the ball field prior to the officer's arrival.


An officer responded to fiesta Mexicana on a fraud complaint. A counterfeit $50 bill was seized. The investigation was closed with no charges expected.


A theft complaint was taken at Creative Foundations. $20 was reported stolen.


An officer responded to a temporary protection order violation complaint at the Mount Vernon Police Department.


An officer met a male in the 500 block of E. Ohio Ave in reference to a vandalism complaint. The windows to a garage were broken out. The complainant was unsure if the damage to the windows was old or new. The complainant stated that tools were also missing. He could not give any ideas on when the incident may have taken place and had no ideas on suspects.
