"Square Roots" Drug Awareness, Prevention & Recovery Series to begin Tomorrow

June 13, 2016 - 10:03 AM

MOUNT VERNON - The Mount Vernon “Square Roots” Drug Abuse Awareness, Prevention and Recovery Series is scheduled to begin tomorrow, June 14 at 6:30 PM.

The Mount Vernon Municipal Court Probation Department and Elks Lodge #140 are partnering to present a series of programs this summer on drug abuse and crime in our community called "Square Roots".

An Elks Gratitude Grant presented to the Municipal Court made the “Square Roots” programs possible.

Speakers include detectives from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Mount Vernon Police Department.

The detectives will discuss the drugs sweeping through our community and provide a first-hand look at the drug-related crime associated with this ever-changing and growing problem.

The program will be presented at the Elks Lodge, located at 32 Public Square, Mount Vernon. Doors open to the public at 6:00 p.m. Admission is FREE.
