MOUNT VERNON — The Central Ohio Chapter of Financial Executives International recognized and awarded Cameron Mast, a junior Accounting and Finance double major at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, the FEI Outstanding Student Award Tuesday during FEI 2016 Career Night at Brookside Golf and Country Club in Columbus, Ohio. Mast was one of two award recipients who were presented with a $1,000 scholarship based on the student's academic achievements, leadership skills, and service to others. MVNU will match FEI's $1,000 scholarship to total $2,000 in scholarship funds awarded to Mast.

"Cameron winning the 2016 FEI Outstanding Student Award is evidence of the incredible business students coming out of MVNU. Cameron stands out not only because of his superior academic achievements, but because he embodies the university motto, 'To seek to learn is to seek to serve.' Cameron has served his peers, his neighbors, and the university in a variety of capacities during his time at MVNU and he has remained unwavering in his dedication to his studies at the same time," said Dr. Kelly Rush, Associate Professor of Finance at MVNU.

Mast, originally from Sugarcreek, Ohio, currently holds a 4.0 GPA and has taken on many different leadership roles both on and off the MVNU campus. Mast is a co-leader on The Belize Clean Water Coalition, an officer within Delta Mu Delta, Alpha Chi, and ENACTUS, and serves as the departmental assistant for the Jetter School of Business. Mast has also been involved in service opportunities on campus with Transition Mission, and has also volunteered with local food pantries and nonprofit organizations.
